 Welcome: -Henry Klassen, Chair, Nechako Watershed Council

Decision: The NWC accepts the minutes of June 1 & 2, 2001 NWC meeting in Vanderhoof.

Decision:  The NWC accepts the Statement of Revenue and Expenditures for 3 months ended June 30, 2001 as presented.

Action:  Wally Eamer will assist Joan Chess in acquiring a map for the NWC Terms of Reference for the next meeting.

Action:  Glen Davidson will continue discussions with Bill Willis, Alcan on flow models that may be modified for use by the NWC.

Action:  NWC will write a letter to Premier Gordon Campbell supporting the primary recommendation of the Nechako Environmental Enhancement Fund Management Committee report of June 7, 2001 and request the Premier to assign the Fund to a senior cabinet minister.

Decision:  The NWC supports Option #4-(Ask the Nechako Kitimat Fund Society to reconsider the proposal with the reduced amount of $1500 at its July 25, 2001 meeting.) of the Evaluation of the Benefits of a Water Release Facility July 11, 2001 tabled by Joan Chess to seek funding from the Nechako – Kitimaat Development Fund Society.

Action:  Henry Klassen and Dean Box will contact each member of the Nechako-Kitimaat Development Fund Society and represent the NWC at their meeting July 25, 2001 when the application for funding is resubmitted.

 
Decision:
  The next meeting of the Nechako Watershed Council will be:

September 14 & 15, 2001 – Smithers

October 19 & 20, 2001 – Smithers

November 30 & December 1, 2001 – Smithers
