1)     Minutes from last meeting

Decision: The NWC accepts the minutes from June 25-27, 1999 with the following corrections (in Italics):

Page 4 Good News-Mike Green-Healthy River for semi-aquatic fur-bearers

Action: Joan Chess to follow up on UNBC alternate and Fort St. James member.

Action: Richard Prokopanko to write a letter to Prince George Citizen to make sure they know they made a mistake in the article printed June 26, 1999.  Carbon copy to Iona Campagnolo.

Action: Application to NEEF letter from Jim Mattison to be responded to by all members of the NWC.

Action: Sabra McLain to distribute the press release to the media and all members of NWC.

Decision: Add semi-aquatic fur-bearers and Issues for Southside Residents to NWC Lecture series –Progress Report (July 18, 1999)

Re:  Presentation in September

·        Returning Chinook

·        Water volume needs- Chinook spawning

·        Water temperature-fish

·        Migrating conditions-Sockeye

·        NFCP Mandate/ Responsibilities and how it reaches decisions

·        An overview of activities over past ten years and what have they learned

·        NFCP’s  highlights of research

·        NFCP’s role in decision about a CWRF

·        Relationship between NFCP and NWC in near term. Re: a CWRF as well as long term

·        Types of issues/concerns/topics that we would need to consider if a CWRF were built (one of three basic options) from NFCP’s perspective/expertise

 

Decision: NWC Delegation Rick Krehbiel and Dean Box, meet with NFCP before September meeting to explain NWC-organization, role, purpose possibly at their meeting in Vancouver August 5, 1999.

    -         invite NFCP on Saturday field trip in September

Decision/Action – Coordinating Committee will draft a letter to NFCP and circulate to NWC members this week to be finalized by Thursday.  Draft to be completed for Wednesday’s am Coordinating Committee Conference Call

Action: Rick Krehbiel, Dean Box, and Richard Prokopanko will prepare presentation to NFCP
