Business Meeting

Decision:  The NWC adopts the agenda as presented.

Decision:  The NWC accepts the minutes from the November 25, 2005, meeting in Vanderhoof, as presented.

Don Timlick gave the reservoir update.

Nechako Enhancement Society Update

Don Timlick gave the NES Update

Action:  NES will provide the NWC with an annual update on its progress.

Nechako Fisheries Conservation Program/NWC Future Roles Update

Don Timlick gave an update.

Presentaion by Huckleberry Mines

Bill Mracek, General Manager, presented information on Huckleberry Mine Operations and proposed early discharge of mine tailings affluent into West Thatsa Reach.

Summary of NWC Work and Benefits of Proposed Cold Water Release Facility at Kenney Dam

Action:  Rick Krehbiel will prepare a new draft of the letter and Summary of NWC Work and Benefits of Proposed Cold Water Release Facility at Kenney Dam for distribution to all NWC members for approval. 

Flow Regime

Action:  Henry Klassen will write a letter to Carl Whicher regarding his e-mail of February 16, 2006, regarding his concerns. 

Decision:  The NWC will table discussion of the Nechako River Flow Regime Principles pending completion of related NES studies and workshops.

Action:  Richard Prokopanko will prepare a communications plan for distribution to all members.

Action:  Henry Klassen will send a letter from the NWC to Charles Jago regarding his appointment as Chairperson of the Fraser Basin Council.

Action:  Don Timlick will put together a list of reports and documents prepared by and for the NES and the NWC for placing on the NWC website.

Decision:  The next meeting of the NWC will be May 12 & 13, 2006, in Smithers.
