Welcome and Introductions

Henry Klassen welcomed all to Smithers.

Business Meeting

Decision:  The NWC adopts the agenda with changes.

Decision:  The NWC accepts the minutes from the November 19, 2004, meeting in Smithers, with changes.

Decision:  The NWC accepts the Interim Financial Statements for the 9 Months Ending November 19, 2004, as presented by Daryl Manwaring.

Action:  Dan Bouillon will have a discussion with Louise Remillard regarding her action item, as it pertains to the ability to manage forced spills for down stream benefits, to determine where she is with it.

Action:  NWC will send a card to Roger Harris to wish him a quick recovery.

Dan Bouillon gave a presentation on Alcan Water Management Ethics.

Bob Murray gave a presentation regarding the Mountain Pine Beetle Epidemic on behalf of the BC Forest Service.

Andrew Wilkinson, Deputy Minister of Small Business and Economic Development, Government of British Columbia, arrived with his colleagues, Shannon Baskerville and Jim Mattison.  The NWC introduced themselves and gave a brief description of their interests in the Nechako Watershed, regarding the value of a Cold Water Release Facility at Kenney Dam.   

Nechako Enhancement Society Update

Gord Enemark and Clyde Mitchell gave a presentation on the NES Year 3 Activities.

Flow Regime

Dan Bouillon gave a summary of his Nechako Down Stream Allocation Model (N-DAM) Revised Simulation Results.

NWC Consultant Kristann Boudreau presented her report, Assessment of Potential Flow Regimes for the Nechako Watershed, and went through her recommendations in Chapter 7 of the report.

Action:  Joan Chess will research the correctness of the data on Line 8 of the Table from Page 24 of Kristann’s Report.

Action:  Flows Committee will take the recommendations from Chapter 7 of Kristann’s report and prepare “next steps” for discussion at the next NWC meeting.

Dave Marek, BCFS, and his associates gave a presentation regarding Fire in the Mountain Pine Beetle killed fuel complexes and operations perspectives.

Decision:  Financial Statement for 9 Months Ending December 31, 2005, is accepted as presented.

Decision:  The next meeting of the NWC will be April 29, 2005, in Vanderhoof.
