Decision: The NWC accepts, with changes, the draft Statement of Revenue and Expenses for the Year ending March 31, 2002 for review. 

 

Action: Joan Chess and Sabra McLain will find bookkeeper/accountant to do a review of the financial records of the Nechako Watershed Council by placing an ad in the Vanderhoof newspaper and making calls to local accounting firms.

 

Action: Sabra McLain will make up a briefing note template for members to bring issues forward that will be distributed to the Council.

 

Action: Glen Davidson will chart options for flow regimes with different inflows and reservoirs levels and send to Joan Chess to continue work on the optimal flow regime.

 

Action:  The NWC will write a letter to John Metcalf of the Nechako River White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative (NRWSRI) to support the request Don Cadden will be making to have regular attendance of the NRWSRI at NWC meetings.

 

Decision: The NWC accepts, with changes, the minutes of the meeting March 8 & 9, 2002 in Smithers.  

 

Decision: The NWC accepts the briefing note presented by Joan Chess on the Methods for Evaluating the benefits of a Cold Water Release Facility at Kenney Dam with changes and agrees with recommendations as presented with the exception of #1 which is accepted in principle and should read:

Action: Joan Chess will organize flip chart notes on the NWC member’s vision of the NWC Short Term and Long Term as discussed at the meeting. 

 

Decision:  The next meetings of the NWC will be:                                                          

                                    June 14 & 15, 2002 – Houston

                                                September 13 &14, 2002 – Fort Fraser
